Vanishing.

Social media magnifies the negative impact of social comparison on people. This arises because of unrealistic comparisons to idealistic information presented through social media. The more time people spend on social media, the more likely they are to believe that others have more fulfilling lives than theirs. This phenomenon is known as Fear of Missing Out or FOMO.

One particular demographic suffering FOMO is the millennials. There are more channels than ever that foster this fear today because of phones and other devices that are designed to capture every moment and experience. The pull-to-refresh motions have been a daily routine in the Ufe. They give instant gratification, which is quickly followed by emptiness, and even anxiety. Personally, as a millennial, 1 realize that the more I pay attention to others' posts, conm1ents, and thoughts the more self-doubting thoughts I have.
